Does Gyroid track how much filament I have left?
Yes. Every spool carries its grams remaining and what it cost, so a tap of "used 25g" after a print keeps the weight honest. Correcting is just as easy: put the spool on a kitchen scale, type the reading, and Gyroid does the tare math. When a spool runs low it flags itself, so you reorder before you run dry mid-print.
What does the print log actually keep?
Each entry holds the model, which printer and spool it ran on, the settings that worked, whether it succeeded or failed, a photo, and the cost. It is a searchable journal you can dig back through the next time you print the same thing.
How does the per-print cost calculator work?
It adds filament, electricity, and machine wear into one real number per print, not a guess. The same engine runs inside the app and on the free calculator here, so a 25 g PLA print reads the same in both places.
Will it work with my printer?
Gyroid is brand-agnostic. A Bambu, a Creality, and a resin machine can all sit in the same logbook with their own history and schedules. It is not tied to any one maker’s cloud or control app.
How do maintenance reminders know when something is due?
Reminders run on print-hours per printer, not the calendar. Logging a print advances each machine’s clock, so a nozzle change, a belt check, or a lube is due when the printer has actually earned it.
Can Gyroid import prints from my slicer?
Yes. Open a G-code or sliced 3MF from Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, or Cura — from the share sheet or inside the app — and the log entry pre-fills itself with the model name, estimated time, filament grams, and material. You just confirm and save.
Does it work with Siri, Shortcuts, widgets, and Apple Watch?
Yes. Home-screen widgets show filament remaining and the next maintenance due, Siri and Shortcuts can log a print or start the print timer (even from a smart-plug automation), prints and spools show up in Spotlight search, and the watch companion puts filament and maintenance right on your watch face. When a timed print finishes, the alert opens a log entry that's already filled in.
Where does my data live, and do I need an account?
No account and no OEM cloud login. Gyroid is local-first: your data stays on your device and syncs only through your own iCloud. It works fully offline at the bench, and nothing is tracked or sold.
